Because all humans had been genetically enhanced to have credit cards instead of right hands, she used her left hand to mark her own name, as she could see it printed on her ID tags, on her right arm. It was oddly freeing, this ability to make something new, even if it was just some disjointed scribbles in the form of letters. And then a black tarp was thrown over her head from behind and she was lifted up and secreted away for another reprogramming. The strange object with the soft blue tip was ripped from her fragile left hand, never to be seen, or used, again.
